Retort processing is the backbone of the modern Indian ready to eat category. Product is filled, sealed and then sterilised inside the pack at above 121°C under counter pressure, which destroys spore forming organisms and delivers 12-18 months of ambient shelf life without a single preservative and without refrigeration anywhere in the chain.
This is the line most new food brands come to us for. It suits dals, sambar, rasam, vegetable and paneer curries, rajma, chana masala, dal makhani, biryani, pulao, rice meals, soups, gravies and curry bases. Because the pack is the pressure vessel, retort also removes the cost of a cold chain, decisive for brands selling into general trade, quick commerce, defence and institutional catering, or exporting where reefer freight would kill the margin.
We run trials at pilot scale before committing a production batch, so you can taste and test the F0-validated product before you spend on printed laminate.
